Brazil, Australia Join Shoulders to Rebuild Haiti

Australia's Foreign Affairs Ministry said that Foreign Minister Stephen Smith and his Brazilian peer Celso Amorim met in Madrid and evaluated their potential of collaboration.
Both ministers met in Brasilia in August last year, as part of the Australian strategy of approaching Latin America, whose progress has been notable chiefly with Brazil, according to Simth, Australia and Brazil strengthened their cooperation in technology, development, and in important international forums, such as the UN, the World Trade Organization, and the G-20 Smith said that he agreed with Amorin to support Brazil to assist and rebuild Haiti, a nation recently devastated by a 7 magnitude earthquake.
Brazil leads the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti with 2000 soldiers, and Australia announced that it will donate 15 million dollars to contribute to the reconstruction of the Caribbean nation.
