The Inter-Parliamentary meetings between both nations go back to 1996 during the government of Mexican president, Ernesto Zedillo, the PRD promoted these relations with the purpose of enhancing relations.
According to Cuban press, the work agenda of the meeting will be extended throughout Saturday February 20 and it includes fundamental subjects of bilateral Cuban-Mexican relations between bodies, as well as the review of these relations in fields such as health, education, migration and trade.
The opening session counted with the addresses of Ricardo Alarcón, president of Cuban parliament and Carlos Navarrete, president of Mexican senate.
Mexican lawmakers are expecting to share impressions with highest authorities of the island.
The Mexican senate said, they decided to give "the highest level" to the XI Inter-Parliamentary Union México-Cuba, thus the attendance of all coordinators from political groups of the Senate and also coordinators of the Chamber of Deputies is granted.
