Argentina's Secretary of Culture Jorge Coscia called Cuba 2010 International Book Fair a party of great vitality which shows the enthusiasm of the Cuban people.
It proves that culture should not be heritage of the minorities, as it happens in several places of the region, but it should be made and used by the peoples.
In his first visit to the book fair to attend the prize-giving ceremony of the Latin American Story Contest Julio Cortazar, Coscia noted that Cuba-Argentina cultural relations, mutual friendship and understanding are strong.
Answering a question on future plans with the Caribbean country, the Argentinean secretary expressed his interest in strengthening links in audiovisual production with educational purposes.
The winner of the Cortazar Prize was Cuban writer Emerio Medina with his story "Los Dias del Juego" (The Days of the Play).
The first mention corresponded to Miguel Terry with "Las Lecciones del Vampiro" (The Lessons of the Vampire).
Writers Marcela Solas with "Lo Bello y lo Sublime" (The Beauty and the Sublime); Michel Encinosa with "Mallorca y todos tus fantasmas" (Mallorca and all its Ghosts); and Rufo Caballero with "Los que fueron al Bosque de Avellanos" (Those who went to the Hazel Forest), also received mentions.
