Granada´s Falksong Makes its Entrance in Havana

Under the title Falksong, from Granada to Havana, the program includes songs like "Caireles" (Teardrops), "Ojos Verdes" (Green Eyes) and "Trinia", selected by the artistic director and specialist in Flamenco, Ana Ruiz.
Together with the Spanish Ballet of Cuba, directed by Eduardo Veitia, they will interpret "La bien pagá" (The well Paid) and Habaneras from Cadiz, as well as a recital of poems by Juan Rodriguez.
The concert will take place at Mella Theater in Vedado, Havana.
Descendant of popular songs and the French falksongs, the Spanish falksong emerged in the 30s of the previous century in Andalusian parties.
For its metric structure and characteristic formula, it is very close to romance, Spanish literature popular poetic genre. In three minutes tells stories of revenge, neglect, absence, jealousy, hope, passion and death.
