Cuban health workers abroad not only assist patients since they also engaged in teaching programs for local medicine students in Venezuela as well as for some Cuban students who are attending the 6th year of the medical career and arrived last September in that country to conclude their training there.
Twenty students from Sancti Spiritus’s medical college integrated the abovementioned group who, once in Venezuela, joined the Barrio Adentro Mission.
In order to cooperate with the situation in Haiti, a local brigade is being organized with health professionals who will give their solidarity to that brother nation. They are members of the Henry Reeve brigade born last 2005 when hurricane Katrina hit the Caribbean and the United States.
