More trade promotion foreseeen in Cuba

Cuba makes efforts to boost its economy to cope with the current world crisis and, for this, it foresees a larger promotion of its exports and cut its imports substituting them with national made products.
Efficiency and saving are key aspects to achieve this goal, was emphasized in the recent balance of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce (CCC) at Havana International
Convention Center.
This time, the Minister of Trade and Foreign Investment Rodrigo Malmierca pointed out that this institution has a key role to play for the country's economy.
CCC President Pedro Alvarez assured that his organization has a great potential for providing training and advisory help, and in particular in trade and investments promotion in foreign business circles.
It is also ready to fulfill other responsibilities the State needs and its more than 700 associated partners require, he added.
For this year the CCC foresees trade missions to Guatemala, Germany, Italy, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa, Ecuador, Colombia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan, among others.
Also it will take part in an important group of international fairs such as Shanghai Universal Expo and Xiamen Trade and Investments, both in China, the Cochabamba Fair in Bolivia and the food, beverages and wines fair in Montreal, Canada.
In addition it will attend the International Fair of Algiers, and other marketplacess to promote trade, business and investments.
With similar goals it will participate in the Agriculture Trade Fair (FIAGROP) and others organized in Cuba like the Havana Trade Fair and the International Craftworks Fair that welcome foreign participation.
