The Ecuadorians arrived in Havana in the middle of their training for the ODESUR Games which will start on March 19 in the Colombian city of Medellin.
According to the announcement by the Cuban national commission there will be several very interesting matches, such as the one between local champion Julio Cesar Cruz (81 kg) and the winner of the President Cup Carlos Gongora.
Equally attractive are the expectations to see Jose Meza (51) and Julio Castillo (91) trying to take revenge for what happened in the last Cardín tournament when they lost to Olympic bronze medalists Yampier Hernández and Osmay Acosta, in that order.
On Wednesday morning the fans will be able to enjoy the performance of the junior squad which is training to represent Cuba at the World Youth Championships in April to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Figures such as cadets’ world champions Yunior Valdes (60) and Arlen Lopez (64) will try to show their class in different divisions from those in which they dominated at the end of February in the Pan American tournament.
