The Granma newspaper reports on Monday that a caravan of over 70 vehicles toured on Sunday the main streets of Hialeah in support of the proposal, presented to the US Congress so these trips are allowed.
The activity was arranged by the organizations of the Cuban migration making up the Marti Alliance.
Meanwhile, the Coordinating Committee of the Associations of Cubans Living in Spain sent a letter to the president of the Spanish government, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, so he intercedes before the European Union and this organization eliminates
the so-called Common Position, which restricts relations with the Caribbean island.
The letter denounced the discriminatory nature of that measure, approved in 1996 at the request of the conservative government of Jose Maria Aznar.
"Interference in the affairs inherent to Cuba supports our statement in favor of the abolition of that unilateral sanction”, underlines the letter, also sent to Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos.
