The National Congress on Neurology was inaugurated on Tuesday in this city, with the presence of professionals from around the country and from another eight nations.

The President of the Organizing Committee, Reinaldo Mustelier, highlighted that in all specialties related to this branch of Medicine are represented in this first edition of the event.
 
The inclusion of meetings traditionally held individually and the attendance of experts from other branches linked to the field of neurology, like immunologists, neurologists, geneticists, biochemists and ophthalmologists are among the peculiarities of this Congress, added Mustelier.
 
Mustelier, who is also the head of the National Group of Neurology, pointed out that the scientific program has a section for free subjects so speakers can present relevant results in a given practice, which will promote the exchange of personal and medical experiences.

Doctor Maria Octavina Rodriguez, President of the Society of Neurosciences in Cienfuegos, said that some brain diseases like epilepsy and cognitive and motor deterioration will be among the issues tackled by delegates to the event.
 
Until March 18, delegates will debate over 50 research works and will participate in seven symposiums to analyze topical aspects like conscience disorders, among important themes.
