Cuba's Lizt Alfonso Ballet Company performed in this city to mark the 60 anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Canada and the Island, as part of a tour of over 20 Canadian cities.

The Cuban company presented at the National Art Center its piece Elementos (2002) and will also present Fuerza y compass    and Tablao, already performed at theatres Place des Arts in Montreal and Albert Rousseau in Quebec.

Director and choreographer Lizt Alfonso describe these season performances as exciting and complex. This is the first time we present three different shows, she said.

This is the fourth time Lizt Alfonso Ballet performs in Canada. In 2008 the company took part in the International Festival on Performing Arts in Montreal.

Vida, one of its biggest shows, was premiered in the same square in 2007 and was considered one of the five best shows of the year.
