Small Format Art Salon in Sancti Spiritus

Nearly 48 works from 30 artists participated in the XIII Small Format Salon that recently took place in the central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus.
The Small Format Salons were first started in 1992 to fill the promotional gap left by the previous decade’s contests sponsored by the National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC).
The jury of the event was made up of Villa Clara’s painters Adela Suarez and Arnaldo Sarduy, and Manuel Echevarria from Sancti Spiritus.
The prize winners were the following:
First prize: Lisandra López Sotuyo with “Tendencia” and “Remedio Universal” (Installations), and “The End”.
Second prize: Derick Cancio Rodríguez with “Visperas de un buen salto” (sculpture-metalsmithing).
Third prize: Alvaro Brunet Fernández with “Economía de recursos I y II” (digital photo).
