This is the fantastical world of the extraordinary Cuban artist, Jose Fuster, filmed by independent UK filmmaker Sylvie ollier as he transforms his Havana neighborhood.
In spontaneous, candid interviews, Fuster and his neighbors convey the impact of this adventurous public art. Fuster, whose work is on display as part of the Puffin's current exhibition, "Cuba Uncovered: Contemporary Established and Emerging Artists," sells his acclaimed work internationally and uses the income to create works of art for neighbors.
The story of this community and Fuster's audacious project is revealed in this highly visual, intimate, exuberant film (2009, 54 minutes, Spanish with English subtitles). UK Filmmaker Collier presents her film, with a Q&A. The program is free.
