Casa de las Américas circulated the groups and the shows confirmed so far in the next edition of Theatrical May, which will be held from the 7 up to 16 of that month in several theatres of the capital and, also, in the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Villa Clara, Cienfuegos and Granma.

The information was made public at the Café Concert, a usual space which every two years celebrates the eve of the International Day of the Theater. A tabloid, a poster and the exhibition of the promotional spot as well as of some images of the invited shows, were some of the materials that Casa offered.

With the presentation of the works Las amargas lágrimas de Petra von Kant (The bitter tears of Petra von Kant) and "Ay, mi amor!,(Oh, my love!), by Teatro El Público, one of the Cuban groups in Theatrical May, both under the direction of Carlos Díaz, opened Café Concert at 10 in the night. For two hours, the actors interpreted a fragment of German Cabaret, a show that collects dramatic texts and poems from Brecht's repertoire and other German authors, as well as songs of that theatrical and musical gender.

For the time being thirteen shows coming from six countries will participate of this new season of Latin American and Caribbean theater. The emphasis of the collective guardianship of the sample by Vivian Martínez Tabares, Jaime Gómez Triana and Martha María Borrás falls in the plurality of the contemporary theater in the region, the work of the actors, the effective checks to the classics, a social deep commitment of the proposals and in the experimentation capacity and renovation of the Latin American and Caribbean scene.

The list of plays of 2010 Theatrical May is made of by Alborde Teatro group from Mexico, with Mara o de la noche sin sueño; from Argentina Tercer cuerpo (La historia de un intento absurdo),by Timbre 4; Gatomaquia,by the Theatre Company La Cuarta, from Uruguay; from Puerto Rico, La razón blindada,by the Sudakaribe group and Tres cigarrillos y la última lasaña and Dentro, by the Brazilian group Teatro Promiscuo.

Besides the already mentioned Cuban proposals by Teatro El Publico, will be La visita de la vieja dama, by Buendía Theatre, Federico de noche, by Teatro de las Estaciones; Malson, by Danzabierta, Casi casa, by the Cuban contemporary Dance Company, Y sin embargo se mueve, by La Colmenita, and Relato de un pueblo roto, by El Mejunje.

The image of this edition was created by Nelson Ponce, who is stamping his graphic mark in Theatrical May since 2004. The spot is made with the stop motion technique by a team artistically lead by Raupa, which recreates the elements of the cartel, but, at the same time, as already usual, gives other always stimulating and attractive readings for the audience.
