Literature and music will sing to the Homeland next Saturday, April 10, in Havana and Santiago de Cuba, when the Jose Marti Anti-Imperialist Tribunal and the esplanade of the former Moncada Barracks (26 of July School Complex) simultaneously host since 4:00 pm the concerts “En defensa de Cuba” (In Defense of Cuba).

Tens of artists and intellectuals will participate on both stages to manifest, from creation, their repudiation to the media campaign that tries to denigrate Cuban reality at present, and to express the right to constitute a worthy, free and fair society.

Among others, the participants in Santiago will be La Original de Manzanillo, El Septeto Santiaguero, singer-songwriter Jose Aquiles, singer Eva Griñan, Los Tainos de Mayari, folkloric group “Cutumba”, poets Teresa Melo and Luis Carlos Suarez, actress Fatima Patterson and several children’s groups.

The event in the Cuban capital will see the participation of singer-songwriters Sara Gonzalez, Gerardo Alfonso, Amaury Perez, Manolo Argudin, Vicente Feliu and Augusto Blanca, singers Augusto Enriquez and David Blanco, rap duo “Doble Filo”, reggaeton artist Baby Lores, Candido Fabre, Paulito FG, Manolito Simonet, writers Miguel Barnet and Nancy Morejon, and several actors, including Corina Mestre, Omar Franco, Carlos Gonzalvo and Jorge Enrique Caballero.

Assuming that many have expressed their interest in supporting this initiative, the casts will surely be increased in the next few hours.
