Vargas Lee participated in an international event on the Dao Ying Yang Sheng Gong method (Exercises to Improve Health) that took place this week in Beijing, where he received the award on behalf of the Cuban School of Wushu.
The meeting at the University of Physical Culture in the Chinese capital provided an opportunity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Professor Zhang Guangde, the founder of the Dao Ying method. Present in the event were his 108 disciples from all over the world, including Vargas Lee.
Professor Zhang heads the Dao Ying Yang Sheng Gong International Institute and he is an active promoter of this method of traditional Chinese exercises for health improvement.
Over the last 15 years, the Cuban School of Wushu has been promoting the practice of Dao Ying in the Caribbean island with the support of the Cuban Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER).
