Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer sent a message of solidarity to the Cuban people, in which he reaffirms his support of the Revolution in the face of the sordid media campaign launched by the United States and Europe against the island.

In the document, the designer of Brasilia points out: “The world is increasingly aware, mature and connected. Lies and aggressions, expressed in writing or by way of actions, do not intimidate us; on the contrary, they make us stronger.”

The new political maneuver orchestrated by the Old Continent and the United States, recognized worldwide as an offensive interference in the island’s internal affairs, motivated Niemeyer’s text, in one of the paragraphs of which he affirms:

" Any attempt of destabilization will have, as a response, the same determination, ethics, bravery and tenderness with which Cuba always knew how to turn setbacks into victories.”

“In 50 years of Revolution, you have demonstrated that the struggle for the construction of a better world is increasingly stronger and common to all men of all nationalities”, reads the message.

Like Niemeyer, representatives from political organizations in Nicaragua, Middle America and the Caribbean and solidarity-with-Cuba groups in Uruguay, have joined the world clamor in the face of the anti-Cuban harassment and policy of interference, and demand respect to the right of the Cuban people to exercise their democracy, free of pressure and blackmail.
