Ricardo Alarcon, President of the Cuban National Assembly of the People's Power, held talks with a delegation of French legislators led by Socialist Sen. Bernanrd Piras, president of Amitié Groupe, says Granma.

France-Caraibe Amitié Groupe is among the largest in the Senate and its activities on behalf of Cuba includes fighting the blockade and campaigning for the release of the Cuban Five who are imprisoned in the US.

In Paris, the group arranged the celebrations on the 157th birthday of Cuban National Hero Jose Marti, while in Havana they honored French writer Victor Hugo.
