Cuban singer Omara Portuondo sang in the New Opera Theatre of Norway, which is the first performance of a representative of Cuban popular music in that scenario, local press reported.

Omara sang all her repertoire of Creole songs with the full power of her voice and the peculiar phrasing of her singing before an audience that filled the 1 300 seats of the brand new facility and she was given a rapturous standing ovation.

Before the concert, Omara and her musicians shared in the Cuban embassy with prestigious personalities of the culture of this Nordic nation accompanied by Ambassador Rogerio Santana.

 A very successful performance in Lillehammer follows the presentation in Oslo. Omara's tour will continue throughout April in other Norwegian cities.
