At a press conference on Thursday the choreographer and director Lizt Alfonso said they will stage "Fuerza y Compas" (Force and Time) one of her first productions to merge Spanish and Cuban folklore.
The company will take the same choreography to Martinique from July 9 to 22 in a tour devoted to that Caribbean island.
The outstanding dance director also said that in these days four dancers of the group are in Medellin, Colombia, invited to the 13th International Season of the Spanish Operetta.
The Lizt Alfonso Ballet will once again put on stage "Elementos" (Elements - 2002) in June in the Garcia Lorca Hall of the Grand Theater of Havana another of its great works based on the influence of air, fire, earth and water in the formation of the human being.
In March, the company made an exhausting tour of 23 Canadian cities where it performed "Fuerza y Compas", "Elementos" and "Tablao".
Founded in 1999 under the name of Iberia Dances, Lizt Alfonso Ballet also includes on its repertoire "Alas" (Wings) (2006) a tribute to the spirituality of the human being. In 2007 it premiered in Canada the choreography "Vida" (Life) considered by specialists in that country among the five best shows seen that year.
