Cuba's President Raul Castro, accompanied by the island's Communist Party Political Bureau member Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, met with Jose Luis Centella, general secretary of the Spanish Communist Party.

The meeting took place last Saturday after the mass May Day parade in Havana concluded, Granma newspaper reports on Monday.

Both leaders looked into international issues and relations between the communist parties from both nations, as well as the visitor's impressions about the May Day celebrations in the capital and the rest of the country, the daily adds.
