Cuban Kayakers Win Bronze in Vichy World Cup

The Cubans lost the gold in a photo finish final to Germans Martin Hollteins-Andreas Ihle (1:27.383) and Czechs Orngrey Horsky-Jan Sterba (1:27.503) to repeat last year result in Poznan, Poland and in the World Championships held in Dartmouth, Canada.
Both Cuban kayakers participate in the 200 meters singles race but had a lesser result when they finished in the 17th and 18th positions, according to the event’s website.
The medallists in this race were Germans Ronald Rauhe (35:201) and Jonas Ems (35:258), and Italian Michel Zerial (35: 638), in that order.
Cuba had two more other representatives in singles, but in canoes, Serguei Torres and Raidel Ramos, who finished in the 13th and 14th position, respectively. The gold and silver went to Russians Nikolay Lipkin (39:156 seconds) and Isvan Shtil (39:578). Host Thomas Simart (40:714) gave his country the third place.
