A tour of Cuba might take in some of the country's rich history and culture, but fans of the spoken word might want to arrange a date for the International Poetry Festival.
Taking place in Havana from May 24th and running for one week, the event will celebrate the achievements of artists such as Jose Lezama and Alex Pausides, according to Xinhua.
Some 80 authors will be in attendance from the Caribbean isle - but others from around the world will also be represented.
A concert has been planned during the proceedings to celebrate the Cuban revolution some half a century ago. It will be performed in the Lazaro Peña Theater, added the publication.
Those on holiday in Havana might want to get involved in the traditional dances, music and cultural happenings that will be part of the exhibition.
During the same week, the African Roots Festival will be in residence in Guanabacoa, according to Cuba
