The Cuban Institute for Friendship with the People (ICAP) in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba and Las Villas University held a gala in Santa Clara City in May 13 with the participation of Vietnamese and Cuban students.
During the three-hour gala, Vietnamese students introduced their national history of construction and defence and told about President Ho Chi Minh. They also performed traditional dances and folk songs that highlighted the Party and Uncle Ho.
On the same day, Ambassador Vu Chi Cong accompanied embassy staff and representatives of Vietnamese offices in Cuba to attend a gathering at the Cuba-Vietnam friendship primary school to mark the 120th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the 115th death anniversary of Cuban hero Jose Marti.
Mr Cong presented gifts, a set of computers and a collection of President Ho Chi Minh’s works which included his writings from 1920-1969.
A group of Vietnamese students at Las Villas University also held an exhibition entitled “Vietnamese Village” showcasing books, newspapers, photos, pictures and other items representing the land and people of Vietnam.
