Authorities found a group of Cuban migrants along the Rickenbacker Causeway early Monday morning.
Someone called police just before 5:30 a.m. to report 15 people on the south side of the causeway.
When police arrived, they found 13 migrants, some walking along the causeway, Miami police said. All were in good condition.
Police notified U.S. Customs and Border Protection, who took the migrants to the Dania Beach station to be processed, an agency spokesperson said.
Authorities have not found a vessel.
Once it is verified that they are Cubans, the migrants will likely be allowed to stay, a spokeswoman said.
Under the so-called wet-foot/dry-foot policy, Cubans intercepted at sea are repatriated, while those who touch land are allowed to stay.
