HAVANA, Cuba, May 25 (acn) At 22:09 local time the stations network of the Cuban Seismologic Service registered a perceptible 3.0 magnitude earthquake in the Richter scale at 19.78 North,77.05 West, at a 10 kilometer depth, 22 kilometers southwest of the La Plata town in the eastern Cuban province of Santiago de Cuba.

At the moment of writing this information there were reports of perceptibility in the eastern municipalities of Bartolomé Masó, El Caney de Las Mercedes, Las Mercedes, Mota and Pilón in Granma province, and in La Plata.

The Cuban Seismologic Service is gathering other similar reports, according to Granma newspaper.

This earthquake sets another new record for perceptible tremors in one year, now 28. The specialists are processing all the information on this event.
