The right-hander tested positive for Mephentermine, a performance-enhancing substance. His suspension is effective immediately.
TRENTON — Former Thunder closer Amauri Sanit was suspended 50 games after testing positive for mephentermine, a heart stimulant most commonly found in nasal decongestant inhalers. It has also been used to relieve hypotension in vital organs.
Sanit, currently on the disabled list was 1-2 with an 8.69 ERA in 12 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He appeared in 21 games with Trenton last season, accruing a 1-2 record with a 2.95 ERA and 10 saves.
