The 30th edition of the Caribbean Festival in that eastern Cuban province in July will welcome artists and experts from about 18 countries, with the objective of strengthening common ties and identity roots.
Authorities from the Caribbean House, the event's main organizer, have foretold a high international participation, as many foreign delegations have already confirmed attendance.
About 1,200 foreign participants are expected to attend the Fire Party, a meeting place for supporters of traditional popular culture, with a program comprising several artistic manifestations.
Dedicated to the Brazilian state of Pernambuco and Curacao Island, the event will honor its deceased founder and first director of the Caribbean House, Joel James Figarola.
Mexico and the Dominican Republic will once again have a significant representation in the festival, which will offer an academic view of cultural processes and the current reality of Caribbean nations, in its theoretical space.
