A Cuban movie season is being celebrated in the Greek city of Volos, capital of Magnesia prefecture, in which films and documentaries of the Caribbean country were shown this weekend.
The organizers of the event said on Monday that it was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Film Industry (ICAIC).
Under the auspices of the Greek-Cuban Friendship and Solidarity Association (AHCAS), Viva Cuba, by filmmaker Juan Carlos Cremata, and Kangamba, by Rogelio Paris, were among the Cuban films that shined at the event.
The cultural adviser of the Cuban embassy in Athens, Ana Rosa Rojas, thanked AHCAS in Magnesia for the organization of the event.
Rojas stressed that the emergence and development of the movie in the Caribbean Island is the result of an act of political will and expression of the big importance given to culture by the Revolution.
The Cuban official also praised the work of the Greek association to spread the Cuban reality.
