Mon, 07 Jun 2010. Going on a Cuban holiday is not a luxury afforded to every US citizen, but one in particular has become "immersed" in the culture, despite restrictions on travel.
Peter Swanson is a fan of Latin American culture and has spent the last 18 years studying life on the Caribbean island, the Cape Cod Times reports.
Havana is already admired by many tourists and Mr Swanson said describing its traits could boost its popularity, he said: It's got an educated populace that's actually extremely friendly to Americans."
Coming from a military family and enjoying sailing, Mr Swanson loves the seclusion that Cuba offers, adding he might travel around the area for days without coming across another boat, the publication concludes.
Visitors who are fans of the revolutionary Che Guevara might want to attend some of the sites made famous throughout his life.
Tourism chiefs are planning a route through South America and Cuba that follows the life of the icon, the Daily Mail reports. ADNFCR-2568-ID-19822660-ADNFCR
