Holguín, (AIN).- Music specialists, artists and friends of Faustino Oramas, important Cuban singer, highlighted here the transcendence of this singer as part of the Cuban musical pentagram.
Internationally know as "El Guayabero", the singer from Holguin, would be 99 last 4th of June. He dedicated almost 80 years to create sons and guarachas filled with a double meaning, which made him famous and popular in several countries.
Pancho Amat, tres player and director of the group Cabildo del Son stated during a conversation that the work of Faustino is still valid today for its Cuban characteristics and virtuosity needed to played it, which make him a symbol for all music lovers.
His themes, he indicated, are true exponents of the Cuban characteristics and of the national picaresque conditions, as well as representing a catchy melody that incites to dance.
The music specilist Zenovio Hernández, highlighted that this legacy of El Guayabero is also marked in the orchestras from the territory, which most of them include as part of their repertoire songs of the famous musician, who was also know as the Juglar Mayor.
Faustino Oramas, National Humor Award winner, started his artistic career at the septet "La Tropical" directed by Benigno Mesa. For more than seven decades he traveled with his music through different stages as dissimilar as Spain, Mexico, Holland and France.
He cultivated the traditional son montuno with a simple rhythm, based on tres, harpsichords, maracas and his songs, filled of a double meaning, which, as he confessed in an interview, is given by those who listen the songs.
Among his most popular songs are Ay, candela!, Cómo vengo este año, Cuidao con el perro, El tren de la vida, En Guayabero, La yuca de Casimiro, Mañana me voy a Sibanicú, Mi son retozón y Tumbaíto.
