The 495th anniversary of the foundation of this Cuban eastern city will bring novelty, as for instance, the creation of a new beer, allegorical to the anniversary, to be held on July 25.
The carnivals of the city will be celebrated in July together with the Caribbean Festival, and Cubans and foreign visitors will be able to drink this new beer, a beverage quite demanded in the summer months.
José Andrés Veranes Sánchez, director of Cervecería Santiago de Cuba (HATUEY) told the Cuban News Agency the beer would be bottled in recipients of 350 ml with 5.6 percent of alcohol and water, malted barley, refined sugar and flavour of hops as ingredients.
The label shows a panoramic view of local Céspedes Park in Santiago de Cuba, with a small view of the Old City Hall, now the host of the Peopleâ?Ös Power Municipal Assembly in the city.
For the workers of the brewery, these months will be hard work because of the commitments for the carnivals and other festive activities.
Veranes assured they are working the 24 hours of the day to reach the scheduled levels of production, quality and distribution of the beer.
