June 23, 2010 2:22 PM. Chicago's Cardinal Francis George arrived in Cuba today to meet with local Roman Catholic priests and pay a visit to a shrine for the island's patron saint.

After a visit to Chicago last year, Archbishop Dionisio Garcia Ibanez of Santiago, Cuba invited George to his archdiocese.

George's trip will include a visit to the national shrine of Our Lady of Charity of Cobre, a mass at the Basilica and liturgical celebrations and visits to small Cuban faith communities.
