Remy Bezancon, director of film “El primer dia del resto de tu vida” (The First Day of the Rest of Your Life), which participates at the 13th French Film Festival in Cuba, affirmed he’d film part of his next film in Havana.
In statements to Cubasí, the filmmaker who’s very happy with his visit to Cuba, explained that the film is an adaptation of the book “Un feliz acontecimiento” (A Happy Event), by French writer Eliette Abecassis.
The work approaches the topic of maternity. A woman conceives her child in Havana, that’s the reason why, he’ll come to shoot some scenes here. Remy commented he thinks to work with Cuban professionals during the filming, though he did not announce names. “I am exploring the ground”, he said.
The shooting will begin next September and he’ll return to Cuba in December.
“El primer día del resto de tu vida” heads the French film showcase and according to its author, it tells about the time that goes by, through the life of a French family.
