Cuba and Jamaica have signed inter-parliamentary cooperation agreements to boost the exchange of information and legislative experience as well as cooperation on issues of mutual interest, said local media Saturday.
The documents were signed by the president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Ricardo Alarcon, and the head of the House of Representatives of Jamaica, Delroy Chuck.
Both parliamentary leaders highlighted the historic ties of brotherhood between the two Caribbean nations, said the reports.
There is no need to explain the long-term existing friendship between the two countries, Alarcon said to the visitor, adding that Cuba holds eternal gratitude to Jamaica for hosting heroes of Cuban independence, Antonio Maceo and Maximo Gomez.
Delroy Chuck stated that the agreements will allow greater rapprochement between the legislative bodies of both countries, which share common points of view concerning several international issues.
