SANTIAGO DE CUBA (PL) - Delegations of Curacao and Pernambuco will exhibit a broad cultural diversity of their peoples in their respective sites during the 30th Caribbean Festival scheduled to begin on July 3.
Cuban artists will be present in their home of the Esteban Salas Music Conservatory in the historical center of the capital and, a few blocks away in Cespedes Park while the Northeaster Brazilian state will be present in the Orestes Acosta Recreation Center.
This last center is located near Caribbean House that heads the event and a short distance from the Jose Maria Heredia monument, first Cuban romance poet.
In what many consider the most Caribbean of Cuban cities, preparations are ongoing for the Festival of Fire that coincides every year with those who look forward to the beginning of the carnivals, a significant cultural event in Cuba.
This third consecutive event will exhibit 50 posters that have accompanied and promoted these events as one of the most attractive proposals of the fine arts program.
Among the important ceremonies are those honoring intellectuals Nilton Pereira, Pernambuco and Rene Vicente Rosalia from Carazo, both with a decisive exhibition of the cultural ties with the largest Caribbean island.
Also recognized is Berta La Pregonera, a popular personality of the city, exponent of the native grace and local tradition.
