Havana to Host Int’l Conference on Soils

HAVANA, CUBA.- An International Conference on Soils will take place in Havana from July 7 to 9 with the participation of nearly 300 representatives from ten nations.
The event will be dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Soils and the 50th of the Cuban Society of Soil Science.
Dagoberto Rodriguez, director of the Institute, told ACN that five working commissions will analyze topics related to Geomatics and the science that studies the surface of agricultural soils.
The influence of climate change and anthropogenic materials on the properties of soils and sustainable management of agricultural production will also be discussed by participants in the event.
Cuba will be represented by specialists and university professors from all the country’s provinces.
