Cuba´s Pharmaceutical and Biological Laboratories business group (LABIOFAM) will hold in September its first international conference and a symposium on natural products used in the therapeutical treatment of cancer.

LABIOFAM produce antibiotics, vitamins, antiseptics, and products against parasites.

Over 95% of the medicines used in Cuba by veterinarians are produced by LABIOFAM, including vaccines against diseases that affect pigs, chicken and other animals.
   
They also produce antibiotics, vitamins, antiseptics, and products against parasites, Granma newspaper reports.
   
The head of LABIOFAM´s Marketing Department, Julia Sanchez Diaz, said they are also giving priority to the development of vector-control pesticides such as Biorat and Griselesf. The latter is used to fight malaria in several nations, mainly in Africa where this disease kills thousands every year.
   
LABIOFAM also produces natural products for humans such as nutritional supplements, including Ferrical, Nutrisol and Propolina.
   
Another product is VIMANG, obtained from the bark of the mango tree, which is used in the treatment of diseases such as anemia, cancer and ischemias, among others.
