Colombian Children's Musical Group to Perform in Havana

The Colombian children's musical group Niños Vallenatos will perform at Havana's Basílica Menor del Convento de San Francisco de Asís, on July 20 at 6: 00 pm, to mark the bicentennial of the Colombian independence.
Created by Andrés Gil Torres in 1988, the group is made up of 8 children aged 14 and under. Their concert line-up includes over a dozen vallenato songs, which is a popular form of music in Colombia consisting of four main beats: son, paseo, merengue, and puya.
After their international debut at the National Simphony Hall in Washington, the group has performed in numerous stages of Latin America, Europe and Asia.
