Cuba participates in African Union Summit

A Cuban delegation is participating in the 15th African Union summit July 19-27 in Uganda as an observer.
The central topic of the summit is “Mother-child health and development in Africa.” Cuba is a major contributor of healthcare services in the continent.
The Cuban delegation is led by Deputy Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina González.
After the summit, the delegation will proceed to Pretoria for bilateral talks with the South African government. South Africa has funded some Cuban healthcare services in East African countries.
