The animated film "Veinte Años" (Twenty Years) by Barbaro Joel Ortiz is competing in Brazil's Anima Mundi International Festival, together with 100 productions from all five continents.
The winner of one of the Coral Prizes in the Havana Film Festival last year, "Veinte Años" is competing in the short features category with works from Germany, Australia, Canada, Belgium, Argentina, France and Spain.
In 12 minutes, it tells the story of the routine life of a housewife who receives no attention from her husband and spends hours recalling the happy moments when they were newlyweds.
Made with stop motion techniques, one of the most complex for animated films, the short has been shown in other festivals such as Film do Animation in France.
The anima Mundi festival will continue until August 1.
