Over 1 000 tons of dielectric oil for 13,8 kv transformers will be produced this year in the ‘Sergio Soto’ oil refinery, from the central Cuban territory of Cabaiguán, which will allow the country save half a million dollars.
According to the industrial plant’s general director, this kind of oil has been for a long time produced here and it’s very much suitable for this type of transformers.
The basic oils plant, which works with an obsolete technology received from the former Soviet Union, has been slightly improved in certain areas like the drying and storing sections.
This industrial plant also manufactures the Sigatoka oil used to fight this disease of the banana plants. On the other hand, recycling of dielectric oil was recently started here.
