HAVANA, CUBA.- The Asturian heavy metal band Avalanch to perform on Wednesday at this capital’s Maxim Rock club, as part of a tour of Latin America to promote its most recent album El ladrón de sueños.

That new CD includes 11 songs and was recorded under the Santo Grial Producciones (Holy Grail Productions) label.

The group, made up by guitarists Alberto Rionda and Dany Leon, vocalist Ramon Lage, bassist Fran Fidalgo, drummer Marco Alvarez and keyboard player Chez Garcia will begin its presentation at 9:00 pm.

Considered the most influencing band of heavy metal of over the last few years in Spain, Avalanch has about a dozen CD’s, among them Muerte y vida (2007), El hijo prodigo (2005), Las ruinas del Eden (2004) and Los poetas han muerto (2003).

In its almost 20 years of existence, the group has won prestige inside and outside its country, and even the acknowledgement of the English speaking public after releasing some disks in that language.

The Asturian musicians will perform along with the well-known Cuban group Tendencia, with which it has shared the stage in several festivals in the Iberian Peninsula.

Another element joining these two bands is that they’re part of the catalog of the Spanish Santo Grial Producciones record label.

The next stopover of Avalanch’s tour will be Quito, Ecuador, on August 21, according to information published by the group’s official Web site.
