The Proposiciones Urban Art Festival taking place on September 4 at Parque Martí in Havana features a varied program of cultural activities and creative workshops aimed at raising public awareness on the importance of protecting the environment and the world we live in.
As part of activities promoting environmental consciousness through art, students and graduates from the Cuban Higher Institute of Industrial Design (ISDI) gathered in the El Vedado neighborhood last week Friday at 10:00 a.m. to paint a mural encouraging peace and harmony with nature.
On the same day, the Palomas cultural project opened an origami workshop for children to learn the ancient art of paper folding, to create and exhibit their own designs.
Promoted by Cuban singers Suylén Milanés and Pablo Milanés, this urban festival seeks to foster more instructive forms of recreation through the implementation of environmental-friendly projects that help people realize the importance of living in harmony with nature to preserve the planet we all live in.
