HAVANA, CUBA.- The book “Crazy About my Cuba” by Tomiaki Nishimura, professor of the University of Kagoshima in the city of Kyushu, was launched in Japan.

The book, published in Japanese, speaks about the life of the Cuban people on different historical periods including their struggles to deal with the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US against their country for nearly half a century, Granma newspaper reported.

The text refers to the development of organic agriculture in Cuba, its democratic elections system and its high health rates as a result of a wide program aimed at increasing the people’s quality of life.

The preface of the book was written by Cuban ambassador to Japan, Andres Gonzalez Ballester.

The Cuban diplomat noted in the introductory section of the book that Cuba is the only country of the world living under the effects and consequences of the US blockade.
