Raul Castro Receives Spanish Socialist Delegation

09/03/2010. Cuban President Raul Castro met with Spanish Socialist Workers Party representatives Senator Leire Pajin, organizational secretary, and Elena Valenciano, international relations and cooperation secretary.
In their meeting, they discussed issues such as relations between the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the PSOE, and international events, according to a Cuban television report on Thursday.
Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also attended the meeting. The Spanish delegation had met previously with Machado.
During their stay on the island, Pajin and Valenciano also met with the president and vice president of the National Assembly of People's Power(Parliament), Ricardo Alarcon and Jaime Crombet.
The Spanish socialists also held talks with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez; the head of international relations for the PCC Central Committee, Jorge Marti, and top leaders of the Federation of Cuban Women, along with other leaders and prominent individuals.
As part of their agenda in Cuba, the PSOE representatives visited sites of scientific, economic and social interest.
