09/10/2010. Venezuela’s International Tourism Fair (FITVEN 2010) was a good opportunity on Thursday for the South American nation and the Caribbean island to strengthen their accords in the tourist sector, particularly in the field of consultancy.
Cuba’s ambassador to Caracas, Rogelio Polanco, said that Cuban specialists will soon arrive in Venezuela in order to give continuity to the consultancy provided in the management of the state Venetur hotel chain, thus contributing to turn it into an important tourist destination for both nationals and foreigners.
The Prensa Latina news agency reports that Cuba cooperates with the fraternal nation by taking its experience in the tourist sector as a starting point, as well as in the training of staff for state hotels, the offering of specialized services and the promotion of tourist destinations.
The Cuban ambassador asserted that FITVEN and above all the International Tourism Fair of ALBA –the Bolivarian Alternative for The Americas- are events that will contribute to strengthen and expand the cooperation existing between the two countries.
He added that the social tourism projects implemented by the two nations will make it possible for Venezuelans of scant resources to visit Cuba, and get acquainted with its cities, its beaches, its nature and its history.
