Cuba classified as one of the best islands in the world for tourism, according to the Readers Travel Awards 2010 sponsored annually by the British magazine Condé Nast Traveller.
Readers of the specialized magazine, the most important in the United Kingdom and one of the most significant for the industry worldwide, placed Cuba in seventh position in the category The Best Islands in the World, according to the National Information Agency (AIN).
The voting took into account such elements as gastronomic offerings, accommodations, the quality-price relationship, attractions, entertainment, hospitality, best landscapes, white and fine sands, and tourism staff.
The other six islands preceding Cuba were Hong Kong, Sicily, Maldives, The Cyclades, Balearic Islands, and Corsica.
The development of Cuban tourism in the last two decades has been one of the most important and dynamic in America and the Caribbean.
