HAVANA, Cuba, Sept 27 (acn) Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said that the people of his country are confident of the Revolution because they know their vote will be respected.
“I’m sure that the new assembly that will take office next January will continue to legislate and, if I were to recommend anything to them, I would suggest that they work harder to strengthen the mandates of the Constitution in the cultural, social, economic and political order,” Chavez noted.
The Venezuelan head of state pointed out that regardless of the result of Sunday’s legislative electoral process in his nation, the world is watching every action of the Venezuelan government and people.
“This happens because in Venezuela there is a true revolution, a fascinating essay that Chileans already tried to implement, a peaceful revolution that opposes the Empire and the right wing,” Chavez added.
“As Fidel Castro says in his reflections, Venezuela is today the epicenter of a battle of a continental and world nature that is going to have an impact in the processes currently taking place in a world threatened by nuclear wars and a terrible crisis,” he noted.
“And here we are, making a gigantic and superhuman effort to open the tree-lined avenues, as former Chilean President Salvador Allende said, where the free people can walk,” Chavez stated.
