A West Palm Beach-based satellite TV operator has begun offering Cuban state TV feed to customers in Florida.

The “Duende de Miami” blogger called the service “something new and different in U.S. TV.”

Olympusat, which offers independent Spanish-language programming, introduced the “Cubaplay Televisión” package with programming from six state TV channels. Customers need a tuner and dish aimed at the Hispasat satellite.

“This new channel represents a milestone for American television, reintroducing Cuban programming after 52 years of absence in our country, and we are proud to be the ones to break this barrier,” said Albert Hammond, Director of operations of CubaPlay TV, in a press release.
