On Monday, President Hifikepunye Pohamba welcomed the Cuban experts to Namibia during a Swapo meeting in the capital.
Swapo has resolved that during its tenure for the next five years, it would concentrate on the proclamation of new towns and settlements. This would require a lot of planning, said Government.
Pohamba said his party’s resolve to develop new towns is beyond question.“Government will continue with the proclamation of new towns, the acceleration of the decentralisation drive, the expansion of our physical and communication infrastructure, improving the education sector, strengthening the public health care system and provision of water.” He revealed that special emphasis would be placed on rural areas, where government intends to expand rural electrification, improvement of sanitation services, construction of feederroads, decent housing and the provision of most basic services.
